A shocked landlord found a cannabis farm in a Blackheath flat this week during a routine visit.
The owner of the property on Castlebridge Road could not believe his eyes when he discovered more than 100 plants cramped into one room.
No one has been arrested yet but enquiries are continuing.
Sergeant Diane Hill from Greenwich Police said: “This is the second factory we have now found in the Blackheath area.”
Hill is urging landlords to ensure correct checks are carried out on the tenants and that regular visits are made.
“The damage caused to the property when a cannabis factory is set up can run into thousands of pounds, quite often holes are drilled in ceilings to run venting through,” she added.
“I would also ask that if any one sees anything suspicious - lighting equipment or large amount of compost being moved into a premises - call police.”
