Over 500 landlords attend Brent forum event

More than 500 landlords attended Brent Council’s latest Landlord Forum in north London last week where they were given presentations from experts on private housing services, licensing, housing needs, council tax issues and environmental services.

The event, which took place last Thursday at the Brent Civic Centre, was the best-attended since the forums began.

“I’m so pleased that the Landlord Forum is growing and engaging with the Private Rented Sector, as well as the different companies that support housing needs in Brent,” said Cllr Harbi Farah, cabinet member for housing and welfare reform.

The event also focused on fire safety in private rented accommodation, the GLA’s draft London Housing Strategy, taxation, and professional property investments.

The forum offered opportunities for landlords to network with other professionals, keep up-to-date with housing policy and learn about beneficial schemes, such as Investing 4 Brent, and council grants for the development of empty properties.

The Landlord Forum, which was first held at the start of last year, aims to support all Brent landlords, especially those private landlords who engage with the property licensing scheme.

If you are a Brent private landlord who lets out a property in Harlesden, Willesden Green or Wembley Central, or shared accommodation anywhere in Brent, you can apply for a licence by clicking here.
