New versions of a model private residential tenancy agreement and other landlord-critical documentation have been issued by the Scottish Government.
There’s also guidance following the introduction of the Rent Arrears Pre-Action Requirements (Coronavirus) (Scotland) Regulations 2020, and documents relating to Notice to Leave, the Form AT6, and Statutory Terms Supporting Notes.
The updated documents come as part of the Scottish administration’s changes to the length of notice periods.
The Association of Residential Letting Agents, which has studied the documents, says they offer useful guidance for Scottish landlords and agents.
This includes information for tenants regarding their rights around evictions and the pre-action requirements, details of the available funding and financial support tenants can access, template letters to help ensure tenants are receiving the right information and support, and a spreadsheet to help tenants work out their affordability when calculating a suitable payment plan.
You can access the documents here.
