Month of free landlord ‘dispute’ webinars begins today

Today sees the first of three free webinars for landlords run by The Deposit Protection Service to help landlords and letting agents navigate the dispute resolution process.

The 60-minute webinars are open both to customers of The DPS and other deposit protection providers.

Today’s covers the evidence information needed for a dispute, how to best gather and prepare it, as well as the principles adjudicators use to reach a conclusion.

Next Thursday, July 15, the webinar will look at errors landlords commonly make that can affect a dispute outcome.

Then finally on Wednesday July 21 the webinar will probe real-life examples of dispute evidence to test knowledge.

Matt Trevett, managing director at The DPS, says: “We always encourage landlords and letting agents to keep communicating with tenants and come to their own agreement when a tenancy ends.  

“Nevertheless, for a small proportion of landlords and letting agents, adjudication does become a necessary step, and our July webinars will cover all the important features of the process to ensure a smooth and efficient outcome. All our webinars feature experienced, legally-trained adjudicators and form part of our ongoing commitment to support landlords, agents and tenants with high-calibre and useful information.”

The DPS says more than 5,000 people have registered for its webinars to date, and that there will be another programme in the autumn.
