Generation Rent and the Citizens Advice Bureau are offering up to £500 in incentives for renters to complete a questionnaire.
Social media posts by the activist group says private tenants in the London borough of Southwark can complete the short questionnaire in return for a £10 shopping voucher of which “there are 50 up for grabs.”
The introduction to the questionnaire says: “We want to hear your story. Generation Rent and Southwark Citizens Advice are seeking the views of private renters.
“We want to find out about the challenges you face and whether you are aware of your rights as a private tenant.
“Any information you give will only be used by Generation Rent and Southwark Citizens Advice and will not be shared with other organisations or services. Your personal details will be anonymised but we will share our overall findings or direct quotes publicly.”
The questionnaire - which early on asks if respondents are in the SE1 Southwark postcode - also includes questions about respondents’ definitions of their sexuality, whether they self-identify as trans, and what religion they claim to be.
It also wants to know their household income and details of how many people occupy their household, plus their experiences with damp, landlords and letting agents.
